For those curious, here’s the real story…

All right, so you know how I’ve been a little MIA lately? A post here, a post there, maybe not another one for a couple weeks?

Well yes, we were on vacation for a bit (St. Thomas pics are coming, i PROMISE!). But that wasn’t what was preventing me from being around much.

The real reason is because I have been sick and have had, oddly enough, a blogging aversion. I know, sounds dumb, but it’s true. Since D and I got back from Tucson near the end of February, I have had at least 3 wicked colds plus an upper respiratory infection that I thought was going to send me to the hospital.

Couple that with that 1 night of barfing and roughly 8-9 weeks of almost constant nausea, and that left me with very little energy to spend here.

Oh wait, you caught that? A barfing episode and over 2 months of nausea? Yep, that’s right…

Dv2.0 is on the way!

I’m due October 27, so that makes me 15 weeks and 5 days pregnant today. I just had my 3rd OB appointment yesterday, heard the heartbeat again, and all appears well, so I felt like it was time to spread the word here too.

Fortunately I think the worst (and hopefully all) of the sickness has passed and I feel much better than I did a few weeks ago, but there’s 1 word to describe why I think I felt so shitty:

BOY

(but no, we’re not finding out the sex)

So there’s a whole new ride we’ll be going on here in the land of ScooterMarie. Care to join me? And I never did any of those pregnancy surveys or anything with D, but if you’re curious and want to know my answers along the way, go ahead and toss me one; I’ll fill it out and post it for ya.

Oh yes, the belly pics have begun too, so you can count on seeing those here and there. I can tell you’re just thrilled by that prospect!

  1. Whoo hoo!! I had a feeling something was going on ; ) So happy for you three an hopeful that your sickness goes away soon!

    1.  @Scroogy Thanks!! Me too. I didn’t have any of the nausea with D, and I know now how lucky I was.

      1.  @_ScooterMarie Very lucky!  I was fine for the first 11 weeks, then I was sick everyday until delivery.  I’ve heard it’s common with twins and especially with girls!  Anyway, it was all worth it.  Congratulations again and good luck!

        1.  @Scroogy Oh my goodness! That would make for a very rough couple months. I really hope this has signaled the end of the sickness this time around, because I have heard absolute horror stories from some women. You’re right though – absolutely worth it. Thank you! And happy early Mother’s Day!

  2. Hooray!!!! We’re due five days apart. And, for the record, all three boys had be vomiting. Hyperemesis with one, regular sickness with the next and then all day vomiting until well past 20 weeks with the third. We don’t know if this one’s a boy or girl yet (we don’t like to find out either), so jury’s still out on if my relative lack of sickness points to all things female.
I’m so excited for you guys!!!! And I’m glad you’re starting to feel better.

      1.  @thehhhousewife Yay!!! I knew we were about the same, but I didn’t know our due dates were so close – that’s exciting! Yeah, everyone I’ve told so far about the nausea this time vs. pretty much zero nausea last time says that’s because I’m having a boy. I remember you saying how sick you were with the boys, and I don’t know how you did it. That had to have been absolutely horrible. But I’m SO glad to hear you’re feeling much better this time. It will be fun to see if our hunches on boy/girl are right! 🙂

  3. Just read this and thought I’d send you a BIG congrats! When I felt super sick … I was feeling BOY too, and I was right. 🙂

    1.  @RedheadReverie Thank you, thank you, thank you! Yep, I think that has to be a sign it’s a boy this time, b/c I had none of that with D. And I now know how lucky I was!

  4. I hope you start feeling better soon… but I wouldn’t count out another baby girl! I had 2 completely different pregnancies… my 2nd was much like yours. I was nauseous the entire 9 months. 🙁 I was convinced Sedona would be a boy… but she was another girl. Natalie & Sedona were and still are very different though!! Much to look forward to… Cheers to you!

    1.  @mommaneedsabeer Really?? Hmm… now that does make me reconsider my boy theory. I will be thrilled boy or girl, and I think that surprise is the best part about not finding out. Fortunately the nausea is almost completely gone, just random waves here and there, especially if I haven’t eaten in a while (or this morning, for some reason). That sucks that you were nauseous the whole 9 months – I really hope this is basically gone for good. Thank you, Kelli!!
